The Dhol is a drum which is used by many cultures throughout India and Pakistan. Dating from the 15th century the drum has served many uses from motivating farmers during their work to motivating soldiers during battles. Today the Dhol is used as an instrument during weddings and other festivals.

Playing the Dhol is very easy. Simply use the two different sticks that are supplied with the drum to beat the two heads at either end of the drum. Using different techniques with the sticks will produce differing tones.

This wooden Dhol is decorated with many different colours and ribbons. There is also a woven string so that the drum can be carried. This would make it a great gift for those who appreciate ethnic items or are interested in learning to play a top-quality instrument.
