The Money Cat is a traditional Japanese ornament which is said to bear the owner good fortune. The cat, locally known as Maneki Neko, has been a staple in Japanese households since the early 17th century. They are considered wise and lucky spirits who are believed to bring luck.
Placing a battery (which is included) inside the Money Cat sees the cat beckoning with its left paw. Also, the colour of the cat is significant in Japanese culture. The colour gold is said to be associated with wealth. Therefore, this Money Cat is beckoning wealth!
We have two different sizes of money cat available. Our standard cat measures 18cm (7") in height and 10cm (4") in diameter whilst our largest cat is an impressive 20cm (8") in height and 13cm (5") in diameter. Please select which cat you would like before pressing 'add to cart'.
