Native American Carved Rainstick

30cm Rainstick with Traditional Carving. South American Instrument.

£11.99

A great unique gift idea from HandcraftedUK!

The Rainstick has been used in Native American and Chilean cultures to bring rain during periods of drought. The rain-like sound inside the Rainstick is a powerful signal to the Gods requesting a fall. Today the Rainstick has been adopted as a popular musical instrument, both in South America and around the world.

Turning this Rainstick from side to side produces a sound similar to rainfall. It has a rough surface which has been carved with an image of a reptile native to the Americas. It would make an excellent gift to give to those who are interested in unusual musical instruments or South American cultures.

Measures 30cm (11") in length.

Please note: As each Rainstick is individually handmade the carving may differ slightly from that in photo.
