Totem poles have been used in Native American cultures for over 200 years. They can be used to depict the legends, cultural events and beliefs of the tribe to which they belong. In fact, the word totem literally translates to "his kinship group".

This replication totem pole is made from wood and has been painted with vibrant colours and looks amazing. In fact, as I write this I am looking at one we have 'stolen' to decorate our office! The totem is decorated with 5 different faces which are painted in various shades of red, yellow and green. The top face is that of the legendary Thunderbird; a creature some Native American cultures believe to possess supernatural strength!
