Rakatak
Percussive Instrument Imported from Senegal
£9.99
The rakatak is a musical instrument which is often used in traditional African music and during Pagan ceremonies. It is very easy to play - Just shake it like you would a maraca to produce a lovely percussive sound.
The stick of the rakatak is made from wood whilst the rings are made from calabash gourd shells (i.e. dried fruit shells).
This ethnic musical instrument would make an excellent gift to give to someone who likes unusual hand made items.
It would also be appreciated by those with an interest in African instruments
.
