| Russian dolls painted in a traditional style. Although many of the Russian dolls available today are painted with elaborate designs there are still many people who prefer the more traditional dolls. Traditional Russian dolls are painted with images depicting life in Russia from farming and cooking to music and recreation. That is why I am pleased I met an artist called Vadim at a market in Moscow. Vadim paints his Russian dolls in the traditional style of his hometown Sergiev Posad. This is where many consider the dolls were first made and Vadim is proud to keep his heritage alive by continuing to paint these dolls today.
