The terracotta army soldiers were buried with the Qin Emperor, Qin Shi Huang, in 209-210BC. Their purpose was to help the emperor to rule another empire in the afterlife. The army was constructed of thousands of soldiers, chariots and horses which were all built by local craftsmen and Government workers for the Emperor. Once completed, the soldiers were placed around the Emperor in accordance to their rank and duty.

The terracotta army lay undiscovered until 1974 at which point they were unearthed by local farmers in the Mount Li area who were digging a water well. Their great history has been researched ever since and the warriors are today one of the most visited sites in China.

As you would expect our terracotta soldiers are constructed from clay. Each soldier is made to an exact scale (1:7cm) so they're accurate...in a miniature way! The average height for each soldier is 26cm.

This small terracotta arm would make an excellent gift for those interested in history and Chinese culture. They would also be appreciated by those who enjoy unusual decor.

Due to their weight, these soldiers can only be shipped within the UK.
